Where to have a drink in Singapore?

Posted under

It is hard to believe that only a century ago, Singapore was just a small a fishing village. Since its independence in 1968, the city-state has become an amazingly multi-cultural place, where modernity and tradition coexist harmoniously. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting the city during the Grand Prix, here are some of our favorite places to have a sip of Chandon:

- Blu Jaz Café

Located in the historical neighborhood of Kampong Glam, this three-storey shop house will match any of your desires. Whether indoors or outdoors, here you can enjoy a drink while listening to live music (blues, jazz, funk, DJs). If you’re in the mood for a laid-back, authentic experience, Blu Jaz Cafe is the place you’re looking for.

- Boomarang

The country down-under is not far away, and for this reason there are quite a few Australian places in Singapore. One of our favorites is the well-named Boomarang, set-up by a real Australian owner and chef to introduce Aussie cuisine to a large public. Boomaran is a piece of the Outback in the middle of the Asian city.

- PS Café

Their website touts it as a “refuge for social gathering”, a perfect way to describe this venue, a calm and quiet café - restaurant. Its thoroughly modern deco makes it the perfect spot for a romantic rendez-vous or a lazy Sunday coffee. PS Café is a must!

- Graffiti Bar at the Carlton City Hotel

We fell in love with the deco-centric rooftop. Apart from the breathtaking view over the thousands of lights of Singapore-by-night, you’ll take in a real street art experience. The intimate atmosphere is astonishing in juxtaposition with the concrete jungle of sky scrapers in the background. Graffiti Bar
